This role is to support the Service Manager in the delivery of a range of section services. This will involve delivering against targets in a range of service areas. This will involve ensuring the provision of a high quality medical administrative service to patients and a group of consultants and clinical teams within the department. This post could also assume the management of the inpatient and outpatients department. These day-to-day services will be managed in accordance with agreed objectives, targets, quality standards, controls and resource constraints. The post holder will be responsible for the management of a team or teams(s) of staff including service delivery personnel, medical administrative and other groups of staff. The post holder may also offer a high level of support administration and organisation to a group of consultants or registrars where needed and within resource limitations. The successful candidate will be responsible for the management of the Colorectal Surgery admin team and will also work closely with the other managers in the directorate to ensure smooth and efficient running of the service. Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: • Line Management • RTT / Workqueue Validation • Monitor demand and capacity and ensuring efficient utilisation of both inpatient and outpatient • Respond to PALS queries and patients concerns • Team meetings, 1:1s and PDRs • Data quality monitoring, analysis and performance reporting • Participation in service improvement and development • Deputising for the Service Manager where appropriate If you believe you have the skills, enthusiasm and ambition to join our team we would love to hear from you. The post holder must be IT literate and have the ability to navigate trust IT systems. The ideal candidate should have some understanding of National cancer waiting targets, experience in RTT and PTL validation is a must. The successful candidate will be adaptable, have excellent organisational and prioritisation skills, excellent communication and problem-solving abilities. The ability to multi task and use initiative in a busy environment is essential. The post holder is expected to take a proactive approach to addressing targets and deadlines, addressing any issues impacting on service delivery, all whilst ensuring the smooth running of the service in a busy environment.
